Check the Compare MI Gas portal run by the Michigan Public Service Commission. If you find a licensed supplier offering a better rate than your utility’s Gas Cost Recovery (GCR) rate, you can sign a contract with them. The new rate will seamlessly appear on your standard Consumers or DTE bill, but watch out for early termination fees if you decide to switch back later.
