Penstar Power Plans & Pricing

Prepaid Plans

A prepaid plan from Penstar allows customers to purchase electricity in advance with no credit check, deposit, or cancellation fee. Penstar Power claims your new electric service can be activated the same day you sign up for a prepaid plan. An activation fee may be required for some plans. For example, the Simply Smart plan requires a $75 activation fee.

No Contract Variable Rate Plans

The rates for electricity on a variable rate plan vary from month to month and fluctuate with the market. The main benefit of a variable rate plan is that you are not locked into a contract and are able to switch providers or plans at any time.

Price Protected Plan

A price protected plan, or fixed rate plan, is one where your rate is locked in for a certain period of time. A contract is required for the duration of the locked in rate and an early termination fee may be applied if you cancel before the end of the contract. Penstar Power offers a six month fixed rate plan.

Penstar Power Fees

All Penstar Power plans incur a $4.95 monthly service fee, this fee is charged regardless of how much electricity you use. Early cancellation fees for price protected (fixed rate) plans can run up to $150.
